The way I view it, forums like this are like a group of people sitting around a table having a discussion on some mutually-agreeable topic. If I would throw the question out there into a personal discussion then it passes my test to post on the list. A little tolerance goes a long way toward making the list comfortable to everyone and if someone is pushing the envelope a bit too hard, a private message is far more agreeable than a public thrashing.
