GPSd again

Back in the March archives someone mentioned a fix to allow dstumbler
to work with GPSd instead of talking directly to the serial port (I
have the binary-only Earthmate).  Is this around somewhere?  

Also, is there a FAQ or man pages available?  Installation was
straightforward, but I figured out how to interpret dstumbler's display
mostly by looking at the header files.  I'm no great tech writer, but I
would be willing to at least start something if it doesn't exist already.
