Re: Orinoco & FreeBSD 4.7

I don't know about Orinoco card's in particular.

I can't say whether it's wrong or not, it's what is happening.

With a client running W2K, Cisco 350 card, Cisco 340 access point, WEP 
enabled. The client PC copying a 67 mb file in an endless loop. I can 
run dstumbler for a hour listening with a Linksys WPC-11 on OpenBSD 3.2 
and not see it. At the same time I'm running dstumbler I can run 
prism2dump and see the wireless traffic and every 1000kusec a mgmt 
beacon goes by. dwepdump sees the traffic fine as well. As soon as I 
have the client card restart to force it to associate dstumbler picks it up.

Both dstumbler and Netstumbler (running on w2k) fail to see this 
network. dstumbler will pick it up when a client associates but 
netstumbler doesn't seem to see it ever. Netstumbler does see networks 
with SSID broadcast enabled.

If this is contrary to how it's supposed to work do you have any ideas 
why it's behaving this way?

I'm running the OpenBSD 3.2 package version of airtools on a Dell 
Inspiron 7000 latop with two NIC's, one is a 3com 10/100, the other is 
the WPC-11. after it boots up I "ifconfig wi0 up"
"prism2ctl wi0 -m" "wicontrol wi0 -f 6 -F 1"  and run dstumbler or 
dwepdump. Results are as I described above.
