I haven't had a chance to dig into the code, but supposively
NetBSD-current (which 1.6U is a part of) has a generalized abstracted
method of presenting the information that BAT needs.  However, BAT
does not yet use this interface.  I believe this feature went in
at the same time the wi driver was rototilled.  Thus previous
patches will not apply correctly.
