If nobody is already writing a BSD driver for the ADMtek ADM8211, I am going to start programming one this weekend. A little bit about the ADM8211: * it is the low-cost MAC/BBP that is showing up in new products by D-Link and Linksys * it has a bus-mastering CardBus/PCI/MiniPCI interface * a driver for the ADM8211 takes responsibility for more 802.11 MAC functions than a driver for Lucent/Prism/Aironet MACs; the driver will be more nearly like awi(4) or an ethernet driver than wi(4) or an(4) * it seems likely that a fast, host-based access point is possible with this chip Dave -- David Young OJC Technologies [email protected] Engineering from the Right Brain Urbana, IL * (217) 278-3933 -- *bsd wireless list, a bawug thing <http://www.bawug.org/> [un]subscribe: http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/bsd-wireless/
