I haven't read the spec.  Is there a place I can raed it, or it's
expensive?

I thought maybe the constraint would go away if you build an AP that
simply ignores the spec and implements a regular bridge, rather than
the mutant internal hostap bridge.

I assumed, maybe wrong, the internal hostap bridge was like a '-learn
-discover' bridge with MAC addresses added and removed as with
'static' and 'deladdr' when stations associate and dissociate.
Instead, ignore association and dissociation for purposes of the
bridge among sta<n>, and make this replacement for the internal hostap
bridge a regular learning, discovering bridge.  so it probably
violates some crippled spec, but if all cards work, or if most cards
work and it's optional, then who cares?  There's no good reason for
this weird third-kind-of-thing.
