Ok, I have now booted the kernel on my net4501-based AP.  The 
difference in performance is significant.  I used to see some pretty 
nasty stalls fetching large images from a local web server over the 
WLAN, but images now load ~instantly.

Terrific job, David!  I'd obviously like to see this changes committed 
ASAP :-)
