We've had 2-3 of our nodes begin to suffer from reduced signal strength, a significant drop of 15dB or so, to where the node is essentially non-functional. Preliminary investigation on one of them looks like a problem with the antenna; my first guess is maybe a bad solder joint that the the cold/heat has opened up. We're using the Hyperlink HGV-240xU antennas: http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/antennas_2400_out_omni.php As we're getting ready make another antenna buy, I'm interested to compare experience with CUWiN'ers or others using these antennas to see if anyone has seen similar problems, or can suggest alternative omni antennas which are inexpensive and robust, with 4-8 dBi gain. I'll report back as we investigate further, if we can definitively determine what's causing the signal drop. thanks, bill -- Bill Comisky [email protected] _______________________________________________ CU-Wireless mailing list [email protected] http://lists.chambana.net/cgi-bin/listinfo/cu-wireless Project Page: http://cuwireless.ucimc.org
