I was in Home Depot yesterday and saw an 8 foot lawn umbrella (for $127) with a side (not center) support. It was interesting because the umbrella could be positioned to be horizontal or it could be tilted up to 45 degrees towards the horizon. It looked like a satellite dish. One large sand trap held it solidly in place. The inside of the umbrella could be used to display a city map (or video projections) because it could be angled towards the spectators.
