Sure we can. As pointed out by Mike in another email, the convention 
center is unlocked and open most of the time. It should be easy to try 
out a proof-of-concept. And, should that not work out, we can try to 
find a similar site to do testing at...

I don't think we'll have any problem leaving a person or two to man the 
booth while others work on building the network. If the proof-of-concept 
is done properly then actual deployment should be quick and painless. 
Leaving lots of time for answering questions from conference attendees 
about MetroFi :P.

I do agree, however, that without a thorough proof of concept, it's 
probably not worth doing as it will just make us look confused and 
under-prepared.
