Sprint sent me a Flip Phone (music and EVDO) last month. But I'm too
stupid (and lazy) to hook up the EVDO link to my computer and see if
it could provide mobile WiFi.

Maybe that would work. I've got a flashed Linksys. It would be nice if
(somehow) you could hook it directly into an AP. I know Kyocera and
others (like Linksys) have APs designed for either PC cards for USB
connections to cell phones for backhaul. But I've never heard of a
hack for Netgear or 54Gs (I've got 32Megs on my 54GL).

I think there's a cell tower near the convention center so signal
strength might be okay inside. Or not. Sprint is cool with backhaul
for their hotspots and even provides a turnkey solution on their site.
