> Do they sell "wildcard" certificates? Yes, but they are often much more expensive ($200 versus $20). So, until we have more than 10 domains that need a "real" certificate, it's not worth it... For the internal stuff (.ptp et al.), snakeoil certificates are just dandy... In fact, at one point Keegan had setup a supposed-to-be PTP-wide snakeoil CA (Certificate Authority), but I'm not sure anyone remembers how it works or where it is. Meta: I'm realizing this discussion really belongs on [email protected], but then again, given the small traffic on [email protected], maybe we should just have these discussions here. Is there any good reason not to?
