I agree with your reasoning. There are usually very cool open source
parties on tue,wed,and thu. nights. it presents a particular problem
for me as Ive got plane tickets for July 24th. If it does move, I
might be able to make it, I might not, so lets set the date soon
either way.

i think participation at this particular event as president wouldn't
make much difference. any sort of interested parties i think would be
happy talking to volunteers with the election that night as they would
talking to the new president.
