I'd say that today the marginal cost on an on-the-roof dual-radio
Soekris 4826-based node along the lines of Mississippi would be less
than that.  At one-off prices, we'd have something around this:

I'm pretty sure you could get it mounted for in the neighborhood of
$50, certainly less than $100.  The miscellanous would include tacky
tape to seal the connectors, outdoor cat5, some mounting spacers and
screws for the Soekris board inside the enclosure, and a gland for
sealing the cat5 entry to the enclosure.  This is mostly based on a
recent purchase at list prices.
