I'd say that today the marginal cost on an on-the-roof dual-radio Soekris 4826-based node along the lines of Mississippi would be less than that. At one-off prices, we'd have something around this: Soekris net4826 $172 CM9 Atheros a/b/g radios (x2) $40 $80 outdoor enclosure $25 PoE injector $22 u.fl to N-female pigtail (x2) $14 $28 shipping $10.34 N-male to N-male 5-ft jumpers (x2) $16.95 $33.90 9 dBi 2.4 GHz omni antenna $45 27 dBi 5.8 GHz directional antenna $54 ==================================================== Total (less mounting and miscellaneous) $470.24 I'm pretty sure you could get it mounted for in the neighborhood of $50, certainly less than $100. The miscellanous would include tacky tape to seal the connectors, outdoor cat5, some mounting spacers and screws for the Soekris board inside the enclosure, and a gland for sealing the cat5 entry to the enclosure. This is mostly based on a recent purchase at list prices. -- Russell Senior, Secretary [email protected] -- The Personal Telco Project - http://www.personaltelco.net/ Donate to PTP: http://www.personaltelco.net/donate Un/Subscribe: http://lists.personaltelco.net/mailman/listinfo/general/ Archives: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.wireless.portland.general/ Etiquette: http://www.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/MailingListEtiquette
