> Crap. And as you pointed out for everyone else, that's a lot of panels. All this solar-powered-radio talk reminded me of something I saw while backpacking in the Wallowas recently. I ran into a guy with a huge tube on his backpack. I figured it was a long fly-rod, but on asking, he (sheepishly) admitted that it was the antenna for his portable, solar-powered ham radio kit. His plan was to hike around the Wallowas for about 10 days and maintain contact with his ham buddies morse-code-style. Russell will remember that I had a similar idea (slightly modified) for a Personal Telco field day :). The idea was to have one hop on the impromptu network be solar-(or battery)-powered somewhere in the Mt. Hood wilderness. Of course, this idea wasn't nearly as good as the Rooster rock nude-node, which I still think should be done ;). -- Caleb Phillips -- The Personal Telco Project - http://www.personaltelco.net/ Donate to PTP: http://www.personaltelco.net/donate Un/Subscribe: http://lists.personaltelco.net/mailman/listinfo/general/ Archives: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.wireless.portland.general/ Etiquette: http://www.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/MailingListEtiquette
