This is slightly old news (a couple of weeks), but I thought some people still might find it of interest. CRAWDAD is a Dartmouth-based community archive for data on wireless networks. After jumping through some hoops, and anonymizing the data sufficiently, I've added the traces I collected last summer at three Personal Telco nodes: http://crawdad.cs.dartmouth.edu/meta.php?name=pdx/vwave Among other things, this means that data from Personal Telco nodes may be used in research all over the world and influence the next cool wireless technology. To my knowledge, these are the only publicly accessible traces which were collected at real hot-spots in places where "normal" people go (as opposed to more contrived settings like conferences and campuses). To download the data from CRAWDAD, you must create an account. If you don't want to do that, you can also get it here: http://smallwhitecube.com/toil/research/files/ -- Caleb Phillips -- The Personal Telco Project - http://www.personaltelco.net/ Donate to PTP: http://www.personaltelco.net/donate Un/Subscribe: http://lists.personaltelco.net/mailman/listinfo/general/ Archives: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.wireless.portland.general/ Etiquette: http://www.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/MailingListEtiquette
