When I was interviewed by KGW last night, I said that unless MetroFi installs more gear, they *can't* make it better. Unless they altogether change the gear, the probability of which seems particularly remote, the only way to improve coverage (which caleb and I found to be astromically unlikely to meet the standard) is to improve density. No more ap's translates to no more density and no more coverage. The agreement with the City has a clause in it that says MetroFi must remove their gear if they go tits up. They post a bond of $5000 for each 100 aps. The City has some capacity to "take over" operation of the network under the tits up scenario, at their discretion. See the agreement for details. http://www.portlandonline.com/index.cfm?a=129511&c=43149 -- Russell Senior, Secretary [email protected] -- The Personal Telco Project - http://www.personaltelco.net/ Donate to PTP: http://www.personaltelco.net/donate Un/Subscribe: http://lists.personaltelco.net/mailman/listinfo/general/ Archives: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.wireless.portland.general/ Etiquette: http://www.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/MailingListEtiquette
