Re: Has anybody ever used the new XR9 from ubiquity?

I have not used this particular piece of equipment but have used some  
900Mhz pre-wimax gear by proxim. The result was unfortunately  
disappointing due to the extreme level of noise in the 900mhz  
spectrum and the fact that the noise can carry so far (ie, you can  
pick up interference from a baby monitor or somebody's cordless phone  
from 2-3 miles away).

I recommend using only 5Mhz channels and best performance will be  
seen in rural areas (don't try to use this anywhere within the city  
limits of Portland, it just won't work).
