RE: encryption options for public networks?

I like ssh tunneling, but ssh tunneling is not as easy as opening a web browser.

We are talking about global usability for everybody....without downloading, installing, or configuring any software..  

SSH tunneling is not grandma safe.

Otherwise, it would be a cool solution in other environments.
