Hi I just noticed this little gizmo in the Best Buy flyer - the description says, "No Service charges and PC not required. All you need is a Hotspot or a WiFi network and you're ready to chat via MSN, AOL, or Yahoo." It's called a Zipit Portable Instant Messenger. Sounds like it has some hacking potential - I'll bet it's running some form of embeded Linux already. Anyone seen one of these before and know whether it's worth shelling out the $150 CAD to get one to experiment with? Here's a link to a scan of the ad if that might help anyone recognize it: http://www.andrewhakman.dhs.org/misc/zipit.png In the mean time, I'm going to see if I can find any other info on the web about this thing and hopefully what processor it has etc. Andrew Hakman _______________________________________________ Dev mailing list [email protected] http://seattlewireless.net/mailman/listinfo/dev
