RE: Dev Digest, Vol 20, Issue 9

Hi,
currently the only equipment I have here is a single 802.11b Netgear Access
Point. - a Netgear  ME 102.

I guess I am going to have to buy the whole kit from scratch, but thats not
a problem. Both ends, plus in the middle I suspect.
I live in the mountains in Spain and we cant get phone lines up here - I am
seen as something of a demi-God as I have a phone line AND a well, so I get
comms AND water even if theres a shortage. I rock!
I guess its a different world here - but hey, the kids play inthe street
with no hassle and I dont eat chemicals in the clean mountain air or get
polluted etc etc. so allis well.

I really am a novice at this, so any ideas on the actual kit I need to go
buy would help too. My neighbour(s) have agreed to put up a relay thingy if
it can be nailed to their chimneys and fed power for peanuts, so kit list
would be welcomed too!

    You might want to purchase a good wireless bridge or router & attach an
antenna that you can point towards A9s base station.   120 meter9s isn9t a
long hop at all especially w/line of sight.  It9d help us help you if we
knew what router 3A2 has so we know what it9s capabilities & features
are(WDS, tx power, what kind of antenna, etc.,), also do you have anything
on your end?

First, I apologize, as this solicitation is completely off topic for this
list.
But I hope you'll forgive me.

I am writing to ask if anyone with considerable system admin skills on
multiple
OSes might be looking for a change of pace. I am aware of a very unique
(chance
of a lifetime IMO) position in Seattle that has become available and needs
to be
filled. I am in a position to recommend someone, however I am not local to
Seattle and have no contacts for local personnel.

I realize the list is probably largely composed of network engineers, but
those
skills are required too.

If anyone wants to hear more please send me an email directly.
