Re: General Meetings

As a not disinterested observer. (I am currently in Croatia on the island 
of Hvar in a little village  so can't participate in either forum.) But 
when we were doing the general meetings I very much enjoyed them. There 
were useful and interesting presentations. a chance for folks outside 
the  geographic area to observe or present. and most importantly to network 
on the person to person or group to group level. Altho I attended many of 
the group meetings I have only been to a few hack knights. It is much more 
project oriented and excellent for that. But in terms of community building 
and social stuff I thought the general meetings more convivial and 
definitely useful.
As to frequency. 4 to 12 times a year would make me happy. I plan to be in 
the area, (Port Townsend} for 6 months of the year and would hope to be 
able to attend  at least some.
This is a world wide forum and at least occasionally I would guess that 
folks from other areas of the world would love to meet us face to face. And 
I would like to meet them.
