Converting AP cards to normal use

When they first came out, we bought a couple of EnGenius access points. They worked fine for about a year, then both crapped out with the same problem: the Ethernet board went into jabber mode. So ... we salvaged the EnGenius EL-2011CD cards out of the APs, and tossed the rest. The cards have dual external antenna jacks, and I think they are higher-than-normal-for-the-day power, too. I just tried one of the cards. Win XP see it just fine, and my Prism configurator program does, too. However, the card has only Access Point and Peer-to-Peer modes. No Infrastructure. So I can't really use it as a "normal" card the way it is. Is there a way to re-do the firmware in the card to make it nore nearly normal? I've searched for, and found, a lot of stuff on updating the firmware, but I can't tell if this is the things to do, and all of the web pages dedicated to this arcana presuppose a lot of knowledge I don't have. If anyone has done this and can show me the way, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks. -Shel -- Sheldon T.
