I have heard that speakeasy suspended operation of pre-wimax gear on the 5GHz band (mainly due to lack of standards, it sucking, etc), but yes, it's a big jungle. We both this of course, operating in seattle over years... Even in the worst of worst conditions, with no open channels, wifi still will work "pretty well" to marginal. A lot of times, this is really all that's needed. If there is a demand and growth requiring higher bandwidths and less interference, there is a million other options available (licensed for example, expensive gear), and we'll at least have the "business requirements" for building such. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ralph Sims > Sent: Wednesday, December 07, 2005 5:49 PM > To: 'SeattleWireless Development List' > Subject: RE: SeattleWireless Node Fundraiser > > Yep.
