RE: Newbie, but wanting to take on an adventurous project.

Folks... 

Several people has asked if I can see the Westin building from my place here
on BI ...

... And the answer is "I dunno."  It's a long way away, the weather's been
hazy, and even with a telescope it's tough to pick out individual buildings
in the downtown mix.

I don't see anything festooned with dishes like those pictures of the
Westin.  Either it's behind something else, or behind the big tree.  Or
maybe I'm just not looking right.

However, it's all moot.  Back when I could only get ISDN, and it cost
$300/mo, I really wanted a Seattle-side wireless partner who could connect
me to the Internet.  Now, however, I have a good, fast DSL connection, so
the complication of a long-haul wireless link is tough to justify.
