Need for a node in Ballard?

I've watched the lists for a few years now and I think Im finally
ready. We've got a nice place (for the money) at 65th and 8th NW and
have a pretty decent line of sight on the roof. We can punch a hole in
the firewall and light up some of our speakeasy dsl. I haven't had much
to contribute to the community until now, and Im pretty excited. We're
currently in need of an ATX power supply for our firewall (we have
scattered motherboards and memory which *should* work) and then we'll
need to find hardware for whichever node type we end up as. I've got a
little netgear wap/router I can (and already do) use for local use and
plan to migrate over to something more manageable.

I've been excited about seattle wireless for a while now but just
haven't had the stability (or the time) to dedicate to it. We've got a
few sun boxes hosting web and email, a p2 400 doing storage and
video/audio serving and web access in the living room, and our baby,
the jukebox, running mserv, streaming our 21,000 song music database
(almost completely non-RIAA artists) wherever we might want to listen.
I'm sure people on this list don't need server space or storage, but
we'll let that serve as an introduction :)

Anyway, off to clean up the mess in the living room. Apparently none of
the mobo/processor combinations I tried like this power supply I just
nabbed from goodwill. I'm anxious to work on our firewall so we can
take advantage of our IPs from speakeasy and get QoS working before our
voip install.

Where do we go from here? Anyone have an ATX power supply they're
willing to part with? Any nodes within sight of 65th and 8th NW in
Ballard? Ive got a clear shot of this side of Phinney Ridge, most of
the upper half of N Queen Anne and Magnolia, and anywhere inbetween
here and there, as long as theyre not too far down the hill like
Freemont or Ballard by the locks. Plus anything north or west again,
provided it's not on the otherside of a hill. Enough rambling.

looking forward to getting involved
-michael
