The following can be used to mitigate such: Technology Pros Cons --------------------------------------------------------------- IPSec Can be really secure Requires user to install client PPTP Native windows client Not very secure SSL VPN Secure/clientless Requires a bit of CPU Temporal Keying Pretty secure Requires special client/cards SSL VPN + Captive Portal is probably your best security option in a hotspot environment.
