suggestions:

1. Set the modulation rate on both ends from auto to 2Mbps or 1Mbps
2. Try horizontal polarization on the antennas
3. I would take a look at your number of packets being retransmitted - my 
guess is that they are getting hammered somewhere along the way.  If this is 
the case, you can try other channels, but your best bet is to move the link 
to 5GHz.  Your packets can be hammered, even if you are seeing good RSSI
4. run DRTCP on each client should help (changing to higher Rwin settings 
should help)

Could be due to timing issues (the orinoco bridges don't really have
this issue), or other settings that are different than the OR500's.
Keep in mind these were tuned to be wireless bridges, and your senao was
tuned to be a local LAN station.

I would make sure the following is done on your new link:

- Turn off ACK's
- Turn off retries
- Turn off flow control RTS/CTS
- Adjust fragmentation settings
- Turn off WEP

Keep an eye on retries and lost packets.  While you will see some, it
should not be excessive.

I do not know whats available to you as far as statistics, but 70% does
not help us much.  Please indicate the signal and noise levels in dBm.

According to my calculations, assuming you had a clear path and radios
pretty close to the antenna, you should be coming in at -52.3dBm.  This
is considerably stronger than you were before.  You could have also
introduced some sort of multipath issue.
