The local Telco who serves my area will not give you a 99.99%
They will not fix a T1 until the next business day.....
They $^@$  as far as I am concerned.....
Better luck with cable....

My favorite local Co-Lo has a 1/2 T3 and that has been
very reliable... Only problem was when the whole North East
had that nasty power problem....
I have several servers there....
Their telco is a much better company
Co-Lo is 1 block from the city generator....
There easy to work with .... I am only 22 miles from the NOC

In the last year I was only off line for several hrs at my shop
due to a real long power outage.... My Wireless ISP was off
a total of about 2 hrs due to a problem at the regional NOC
feeding my area.... they had a blade go down.....
Even with the below 0 problem with my wireless link at my
shop... It still works better than the local Telco...

I wanted a dry unloaded pair between my shop and my sisters
house and they said no way.... Loaded only.....
They wanted to sell me a T1 at $400 a month and
a $600 install...... for 6000 feet.....
I did it wireless for what it would cost me for 2 months plus install....
And I have a bigger pipe....

T1's or SDSL if available in my local area are real pricey.....
ADSL is available but the only ISP that does it is a DORK!!!

So many issues and concerns as well as $$$ when starting out
can be a real pain.... especially in New York, the land of Taxes
and big business.
