>From Wi-Fi Planet's "Hotspot Hits" Surly, untalkative loners looking for Wi-Fi need to campout elsewhere: Blogs are abuzz today with the tail of possible hotspot backlash, as a coffee shop in SeattleVictrola Coffee & Artis turning off its free Wi-Fi network on the weekends. The connections had gone from drawing in customers to making them incommunicative as they hunkered over their laptops. Turning off the Wi-Fi has apparently helped turn on the interaction again, and even better, weekend sales are up. Outside of some nasty e-mails, the café says most customers have thanked them.
