senao 2511CD plus Ext2 won't run in monitor mode

I am giving airodump a try, but I can't get my senao
card into monitor mode.

I am using the Auditor live CD.

I am using the following commands:

iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor

I get the following error message:

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06)
     SET failed on device wlan0 : Operation not
supported.


Any idea of what I might be doing wrong?
