I doubt it would be a wimax killer...I think there is too much invested
in wifi/wimax at this point for it to just die.

It sounds like it has the potential to be huge still though.  Very
exciting technology behind it.  A 42km link would be totally badass :)

This new impressive technology can deliver upto 42Mbps over 22kms NLOS
from a single site. Does this mean end of WiMax hype? They are also
saying Base should cost about $350K and cpe chips about $6 each - this
will be a serious threat even to the 'wired' providers.
