You can find more information there about who Seattle Wireless is - it is really a volunteer type basis...I am not one in charge of SW but I bet you can find all the information you are looking for right there!

Take care,
Devin

Hi, Devin: Terrific! My confusion is total! Didn't know about Seattle
Wireless the ISP. Real deal is good to know. Since you mentioned, as a
nonprofit, you might benefit from having a digital recording studio to
create audio clips and video clips and CDs, DVDs, tv and radio shows,
public service announcements, fund-raising campaigns, etc. The cost to
set up a community-based recording studio that can provide free
recording services for premium network members, or whatever, is zero
dollars. Just get a donated PIII or newer computer, load it with
software package from Stanford University's Center for Computer Research
in Music and Acoustics, and you're off and running. Open Studios will
provide all technical support and training for these systems, free of
charge. If any of you are interested, let me know, and we'll work with you.

I talked to our local Broadband Telecommunications Commission this
morning. The word is, they're now waiting to see what Qwest and/or
Mediacom will do for them. In the meantime, they're interested in
moving to the next step and identifying who, in the community, might be
interested in putting a proposal or two on the table to look at. We
agreed to touch bases again after the first of the year. So, now I need
to find out who your Board members are, and start sketching the proposal
ideas that might work. Are you one of them? :)
Tom
