I thought I remember hearing something about it sharing bandwidth with all users...perhaps that is why he is clocking it at such low speeds. Cant really comment other than that though since I have only read about it ;) Devin -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ralph Sims Sent: Monday, November 28, 2005 7:02 PM To: 'SeattleWireless Talk List' Subject: RE: EVDO throughput in Seattle I'm currently using an EVDO connection and just tested 501 kbps down and 119 kbps up. I have seen a full megabit down but generally run in the 500-600 kbps range. I've been able to stay connected from Everett to Tacoma driving along I5, with only occasional drops to 1xRTT. I have been using Verizon's service from the first time they rolled out the 1xRTT service. For the $59/mo. from Verizon, it's well worth it. > My comments are from an evaluation of this technology 6 or so > months ago...things may have changed... _______________________________________________ Talk mailing list [email protected] http://seattlewireless.net/mailman/listinfo/talk _______________________________________________ Talk mailing list [email protected] http://seattlewireless.net/mailman/listinfo/talk
