Hi Newbie here. I regularly have at least two unknown users on a non-public WLAN. They seem to be on whenever I look at Status (using Actiontec GT701 & its software). Status shows their MAC address, IP address, PC Name. - How can I best assess as well as locate and physically identify these? - Could noticeable bandwidth be being appropriated? LAN as well as WLAN speed is way off its rating. Whether related or not, a set of downloads showed less than 1/10 of nominal 256K SDSL speed. There are usually only about 3-5 users at a time. - Any suggestions for how to go about this? - Any suggestions for Open Source or freeware monitoring, diagnostic software? Search results for "Networking monitoring", cluster "Freeware" yielded about 6 lists, so I'm looking for some recommendations that might help winnow. Plans or leads would be appreciated.
