Hi
What tried so far re. TFTP syntax for Actiontec
This is to save gateway custom setups externally.
I have two, maybe three gateways at locations not quite within available
LOS of each other. There are numerous steps to enable the most effective
access and security settings I could find. I'm thinking it could be
simpler to have 'em all configured the same (but for their broadband
username and password), and externally save their /dev/ticfg as config.xml
in case.

Firmware
Both my gateways say
Model: GT701-WG | F/W: 3.60.1.0.4.1
on a small sticker on their undersides.

My replacement CD says
Installation CD | Ver.1.3.8 | Model# GT701-wg | P.N. 0410-0103-006
Firmware Recovery QW04-3.60.2.0.6.3*
Original CD with slightly older gateway says
Installation CD | Ver.1.3 | [No line with model] | P.N. 0410-0103-003
Firmware Recovery QW04-3.60.1.0.4.1

Before typing in commands, I'd like to confirm that I'm on the right track
(going in the right direction : )`

Binary mode FTP with ADAM2 instead of TFTP?
( TFTP per http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/ActiontecGT701 )
My Ethernet connections are running Win98 or Win98SE, so what syntax?

Session quotes:

# cd /var/tmp

Various permutations of the tftp command return the same result.

tFTPD32 (with Telnet connection remaining open, otherwise tFTPD32 makes no
response to input)]:

Searched help; syntax and setup parmameters not found (I think this is for
SysAdmin).

Suggestions, leads, clues would be welcome.

Sorry this is so long, I've tried to be clear.
Thank you

* Calling Qwest Tech Support on a related topic, a tech rep said the CD
version differences should not matter. However, it is my understanding
that, in general, mixing versions, even said to be backwards compatible,
might work only with well-written sofware. So in this troubleshooting,
does this matter, or should I use the older CD, or do I need to update the
firmware?
