The WRT54G and GS with 3rd party firmware can function in bridging mode and do everything the WAP54G can do. Avoid the WRT54G v5 routers (serials beginning with CDFB, runs VxWorks, 1/2 the ram and flash as before) and the WRT54GS v4 (serials beginning with CGN60, runs Linux, has 1/2 the ram and flash as previous GS units).
