metrix and Soekris questions

The recent questions about m0n0wall prompted me to post this since I 
couldn't get m0n0 to bridge my WLAN and LAN interfaces (Soekris 4501 
board with a Senao prism 2.5 based mini-PCI card). In fact, the only 
small OS I've had any luck with was OpenBSD 3.7 (last summer prior to 
3.8's release). FYI, I used a kernel from flashboot 
(http://www.mindrot.org/flashboot.html) and an install script from 
flashdist (http://www.nmedia.net/~chris/soekris/). I might try nanoBSD 
next since it appears to be a variant of picoBSD rolled in to the 
official FreeBSD release.

Anyhow, I've just successfully installed the aging pebble linux on a 
128mb CF card. I've been reading through the metrix pebble release notes 
and although it says its optimized for newer PCMCIA based Soekris 
boards, it's alleged to work ok on the 4501. Before I spend a lot of 
time with this, does anyone have it running on a 4501 and, if so, are 
there any caveats?
