Latency is rather high, but I'm not sure exactly what. That page reports 2+ seconds quite often, however i use PuTTY on my Nokia 7710 with somewhat less latency than that fairly regularly. Possibly as low as 300ms, probably higher. It is normally NATed, however if you call up T-Mobile and ask them to switch you to the corporate VPN service (which, AFAIK, is no additional charge), they'll tell you to start using the 'internet3.voicestream.com' APN which assigns you a real, internet-routable IP address.
