Thanks Casey, Larry & Tyler:

I imagine Fire Departments' biggest hurdle with WiFi is it's lack of 
penetration several floors below the surface and/or elevator shafts.   
Without relying on repeaters, lossy cabling or switching to other 
frequencies I perceive this to be a limitation of WiFi for a long time 
to come.
