links inactive when page served with wwwoffle ?

Does wwwoffle somehow cause links to be inactive, on

and in online mode ? They are <a href> as far as i can see.
Without wwwoffle they work.


btw. 
I'm still unsure what's the best way to post long URLs. 
Does <> paenthesis help at all against Mailers line breaking ? 
(which i deactivated on this mial of course)
