I have been getting about 2000 messages a day in my syslog saying "wwwoffles[...]: Cannot write to client; disconnected?" - most, but not all, while the htdig daily (incremental) indexing run is happening - and they're happening several times a second. I've been ignoring these, but as they're potentially hiding important messages I decided last week to track down the cause. I find that there are 3 places in wwwoffles that generates them (or similar) as "Warnings". The other warnings appear to be potentially serious things, disk full, wrong permissions, etc, so I don't want to change the log-level. However "client disconnected" appears to be a "so what". I have therefore changed those three to "Inform" - below the default log level. My syslog is clean again :-). May I offer that as a suggestion for a permanent change. (Using wwwoffle 2.8e, now 2.8e1 :-).) -- John F Hall
