strip out that &sid= jazz on request URLs?

How can I strip out the &sid=... ("session ID") of
http://bla.com/bla/bla?q=nurd&sid=34KJAH_goes_on_and_on_DFLEWRQW12543324&bla=3
on outgoing requests? Use Alias somehow? ModifyHTML and
CensorHeader don't look promising.
Yes sometimes sid= might serve a purpose, but for me mostly it is just
more cholesterol.
