I'm using linux FP 2.2.1 perhaps > we're not running the same version ? Did you try checking 'Global settings -> > Show status in status bar' ? I am running the same version of FoxyProxy as you are and I do have the status bar icon. Consider an example where you are browsing a website using WWWOFFLE and you discover that there is some feature that you really need that doesn't work well with WWWOFFLE (Javascript, cookies, flash whatever). Starting from viewing the web page that causes the problem the steps that you need to add this host to the list that are not cached is: 1. Left click the FoxyProxy status bar icon 2. Double click the "Direct" entry in the proxy list 3. Click "Add new pattern" 4. Type in the name of the host 5. Click OK 6. Click OK again 7. Select File -> Close Compare this to deciding to allowing the site to use Javascript with the NoScript extension: 1. Left click the NoScript status bar icon 2. Select "Allow foo.com" from the menu Or compare to deciding to allow cookies from the site with the CookieStatusButton extension: 1. Left click the CookieStatusButton status bar icon 2. Select "Accept cookies from foo.com" from the menu It should be possible for FoxyProxy to have a two step process like these other extensions that simply allows you to enable or disable proxying for the current web site. -- Andrew. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew M.
