It's nothing fancy, just an option that affects the amount of help in
the last line; you can set it directly in your .lynxrc:

| # bottom of the screen to aid the user in learning the basic Lynx

Or you can use "o" in lynx to get to the options, which starts with:

(In case it matters: Lynx Version 2.8.5rel.1 (04 Feb 2004), but the
option is ancient.)
