I'd just symlink to another name for that port/address. For example, proftpd is also symlinked to proftpd.in. You can just create another symlink. Its hackish, but less so than maintaining your own patch against xinetd. It is also portable to inetd should you even need to go that direction. Yesterday you said you recommend NOLIBWRAP for a flag and then call tcpd so people have a consistent setup. In that scenario, the patch to xinetd doesn't even come into play since NOLIBWRAP is given. But back to your original post for this thread. Why don't you send Rob the patch so the portability enhancements can start to be integrated?
