The problem comes from the fact that generated files are placed under CVS control. The real problem is auto* version compatibility however. There are virtually no two dists shiping the same autoconf/automake versions and two auto* versions are nearly always incompatible in one way or the other. To avoid this problem, I put the generated files in the CVS, which seemed to cause the lesser problems. This auto* version problem is known to the developers and they promissed to do better in the futur. Once I see this working, I will hapily remove the generated files, but until then we should hide the other problems ...
