   When he says "the other lies", is he admitting that what he is 
writing is a lie and just wants some other undisclosed lie to be 
discontinued instead of his own?

   Hardware and software have little to nothing in common, and repeating 
the lie over and over again doesn't make it more true.  The fact that 
someing is or is not called a "technology" by laypersons is (or should 
be) irrelevant to the *economic* question of whether patents should 
exist in any given subject matter.

   Then again, Greg probably believes that patent law is a branch of 
physics, given he seems to believe everything else is.
