IPv6 was developped by the IETF and IAB, which may have been paid by US
tax payers (to some extent), but development did not stop at paperwork.

Software engineers, router vendors, network architects and engineers,
and even endusers all put their fair share of energy in its continued
development. I am sure that IETF members' attendance is not paid by the
US government but by their respective employers.

Saying IPv6 was developped predominantly using US tax payers' money is
shortsighted at best, and generally speaking entirely wrong.
