It's very convenient to put up a big "blame them!" poster, no?

If you're a bit more realistic about it: there is no way to do "good
IPv4 address management" in a way that makes enough IPv4 addresses for
every person on earth.  4 billion vs. 6.7 billion as of june 2008.

Being more restrictive in the early days would probably make IPv4 last
5 or 10 years longer - and then there are *more* people affected by the
migration to "something large enough".  So what had we gained?
